Who am I?
I was born in 1984 in New York, the middle of three children to an American mother and English father. I attended prestigious private schools and holidayed each summer with Dad’s family in Ireland. Both my parents were journalists and from a young age, I was surrounded by their artistic friends, including stars like Mick Jagger. After high school, I planned to go to university, but in the end, I pursued an acting career, attending drama school in Ireland. In 2003, I landed a major role on TV mini-series Skin, and the following year, I had a recurring part on TheO.C. Over the next couple of years, I branched out into movies, starring alongside Paul Walker in the film BobbyZ. In 2007, I was cast as one of the leading characters on Hugh Laurie’s medical drama House. The show made me a star and I started to land big films, including Cowboys&Aliens, YearOne and Tron:Legacy. In 2011, I met my current partner, Jason Sudeikis, and together we’ve raised two children, Otis and Daisy, as I’ve continued to mix movie work, activism and being the face of big brands Revlon and H&M.
