BEFORE

When we moved into our new house, the laundry was dated and in need of more storage and bench space. The room was quite depressing to be in.

THE BRIEF

More storage (including some open shelving) and bench space, new appliances, and colour for a bit of fun while carrying out a boring task. I wanted the appliances to be under the bench to create a more streamlined look and more bench space.

HOW LONG DID THE PROJECT TAKE?

Two months.

HOW DID YOU DECIDE ON YOUR PALETTE AND MATERIALS?

I worked backwards from the floral wallpaper

I’d set my heart on. As it was very busy and colourful, I wanted neutral cabinetry. I kept the existing charcoal floor tiles which were in great condition. I chose clear glass for the splashback in order to protect the wallpaper.

WHAT BENCHTOP DID YOU CHOOSE?

A Caesarstone benchtop for durability, aesthetics and quality.
