Mindful living: what does it mean exactly? I think it’s different for everybody. For me, it means checking in on how I’m feeling and making adjustments along the way if something in my life needs tweaking. I prioritise things I love doing in my free time to ensure I stay in a healthy mindset (easier said than done most of the time, but I do try!). In terms of the home, candles, lots of plants, flowers from the garden brought inside, and brightly coloured linen on the bed are the little things that make me happy and improve my wellbeing. What are yours?
Tastes and circumstances evolve over time so it’s worth checking back in every now and again to make new habits or rituals that make you feel good. Another thing the Your Home and Garden team all agree on is that having pets in the home increases happiness. Check out our ‘Creature comforts’ shoot on page 35, which features a few of our furry friends – needless to say, that was a very good day at the office!
