Zam­fara hospi­tal com­mences dial­y­sis, orthopaedic surg­eries

The Ya­ri­man Bakura Specialist Hospi­tal in Gusau, the cap­i­tal of Zam­fara State has com­menced orthopaedic surg­eries and dial­y­sis, Med­i­cal Di­rec­tor of the hospi­tal, Dr Bello Muham­mad Kwatark­washi, said.

He said nec­es­sary equip­ment have been put in place to en­sure that pa­tients are prop­erly at­tended to.

“You know the hospi­tal pro­vides specialist care to the pop­u­lace and we get re­fer­rals from within and out­side the state even neigh­bour­ing coun­tries such as Benin and Niger Repub­lic,” he said.

Kwatark­washi added that since the com­mis­sion­ing of the hospi­tal, over 5,000 pa­tients have been ad­mit­ted and that a to­tal of 509 ma­jor and mi­nor surg­eries have been suc­cess­fully car­ried out.
