Some of the delegates at the National Conference are at the “departure lounge waiting for boarding pass.”

The phrase was first used by Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife while reacting to a younger delegate who accused the older delegates of causing the problem facing this country. Ezeife said the elders are “indeed at the departure lounge” waiting to start their journey to the great beyond.

Chief Edwin Clark yesterday shed more light on that issue. He said the youths have to be patient, adding that “when you are 70 years and above, you are at the departure lounge waiting for a boarding pass.”

He said but “since we are not yet given boarding pass, it is because that we need to share our experience with the younger generation.”
