Aburi Accord & professors

Daily Trust - - NEWS -

When a delegate from the Market Women Associations rose to speak yesterday, she did the unusual. Mrs Ifeanyinwa Ezenwa, after introducing herself and praising their leader at the conference, she simply asked the conference to produce the details of the Aburi Accord to them.

“Mr Chairman, before the Civil War, we learned that there was Aburi Accord! So, we want to know where is the report now. We want to know the content of the report and we want to know why it was not implemented,” she said.

Before the laughter subsided, the market woman took another jibe at the professors. “Where are the professors? In other countries, professors are making researches. But our professors are busy contesting to be governors, senators and so on,” she said.

The plenary went laughter.
