Bauchi denies closure of schools by insurgents
The Bauchi State government has denied reports of the closure of schools by insurgents in Ganjuwa and Darazo LGAs of the state.
It was reported that insurgents who have been staying around Ganjuwa and Darazo LGAs had ordered the closure of primary schools in surrounding villages, leaving dispensaries and hospitals to operate.
But the Commissioner for Information, Engineer Mohammed Damina, yesterday in Bauchi said all schools were open while teachers and students were going about their normal academic activities without any problem.
Principal Public Relations Officer of the State Primary Education Board, Kabiru Ali Kobi, also denied the report, saying education secretaries would have reported if such thing ever happened. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Haruna Mohammed promised to give the correct information on it.
