Katsina at­tack vic­tims get N100m life­line

The Katsina State Ex­ec­u­tive Coun­cil yes­ter­day ap­proved N100 mil­lion to as­sist vic­tims of the re­cent at­tacks that claimed sev­eral lives in Faskari, Sabuwa and Safana LGAs of the state.

A state­ment from the Spe­cial Ad­viser to the Gover­nor on Me­dia, Sani Shuaibu, said the coun­cil ap­proved that the fam­i­lies of the three po­lice­men killed in the clash be given N1 mil­lion each while the in­jured DPO in charge of Faskari would get N500,000.

The state­ment added that the bal­ance would be shared to the fam­i­lies of those who died, the in­jured and those who lost property. Dur­ing an ear­lier visit, Gover­nor Ibrahim Shema gave N5 mil­lion for the treat­ment of in­jured per­sons. The coun­cil also ap­proved some rec­om­men­da­tions made by the Bri­gadier Gen­eral Ma­harazu Tsiga in­ves­ti­ga­tion com­mit­tee, one of which is that the state li­aises with the federal govern­ment to or­ga­nize se­cu­rity op­er­a­tions at the Rugu For­est to flush out crim­i­nals in the area.
