Katsina attack victims get N100m lifeline
The Katsina State Executive Council yesterday approved N100 million to assist victims of the recent attacks that claimed several lives in Faskari, Sabuwa and Safana LGAs of the state.
A statement from the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Sani Shuaibu, said the council approved that the families of the three policemen killed in the clash be given N1 million each while the injured DPO in charge of Faskari would get N500,000.
The statement added that the balance would be shared to the families of those who died, the injured and those who lost property. During an earlier visit, Governor Ibrahim Shema gave N5 million for the treatment of injured persons. The council also approved some recommendations made by the Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga investigation committee, one of which is that the state liaises with the federal government to organize security operations at the Rugu Forest to flush out criminals in the area.
