Buhari urges govt to unravel Kaura killers

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Sunday Isuwa, Kaduna

Former Head of State, retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday asked the Kaduna State government to find those behind the recent killing of over 100 people in Kaura LGA of the state.

Buhari spoke when he led leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the palace of the affected community’s chief in Manchok. He said the killers must be brought to book and punished to serve as deterrent.

“I am not a stranger in Kaura because my elder brother is a close friend of the Chief of Marwa. I am at home here. It’s unfortunate that such killings took place. The Kaduna State government must bring the perpetrators to book,” he said.

Buhari regretted that the government under President Goodluck Jonathan has failed to address the prolonged security problem in the country, saying, if Nigerians give their mandate to the APC in the 2015 general elections, security would be paramount.

“This government has failed to address the prolonged insecurity in the country. Security of lives and property should be a priority of every government but from what is happening, the government is incapable and we must change it in 2015,” he said.
