Gombe Chief of staff orders removal of APC posters
Chief of Staff to the Gombe State governor, Alhaji Ahmed Yayari, has called on youths in the state to ensure that all posters and billboards belonging to the All Progressive Congress (APC) are removed.
Speaking during the foundation laying ceremony of a hospital in Kaltungo Local Government Area of the state, Yayari called on youths to make sure that all posters and billboards belonging to the rival All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state are removed before Saturday.
Yayari also tackled former governor of the state, Danjuma Goje, saying Dankwambo’s three years in office have overshadowed his predecessor’s eight years.
“Despite all the developmental projects Dankwambo has brought to Gombe-south constituency, some unpatriotic people in the state who are not happy with he is doing are saying “chanji dole”, meaning change is a must in Gombe. They are deceiving us and the leader of this change; Goje, God gave him chance, we the people of Gombe also gave him chance for eight years but what has been achieved in three years under Dankwambo has overshadowed his eight years tenure. By allowing them to erect their posters and billboards in the state to advertise their party, are we being just?” he said.
He added: “If we truly like what Dankwambo is doing for us, is it right for us to allow some people to come and bring change? We should respect our leaders and ensure that any flag apart from that of the PDP flag is not hoisted. These people erecting other parties’ posters; are they from this state or from other parts of the country? If they are not from this state, why should you allow them to erect their posters in our state”.
