Kwara APC be­gins con­gresses Satur­day

The Kwara State chap­ter of All Pro­gres­sives Congress (APC) has said it is ready to kick off con­gresses to elect the 5,447 of­fi­cials to di­rect the af­fairs of the party in the state.

In a state­ment is­sued in Ilorin yes­ter­day by its in­terim state pub­lic­ity sec­re­tary, Al­haji Su­ly­man Buhari, the party said it has con­cluded ar­range­ments to con­duct its congress at ward, lo­cal govern­ment and state lev­els.

Twenty six of­fi­cials would be elected from each of the 193 wards of the state, 25 of­fi­cials from each of the 16 lo­cal govern­ment ar­eas, while 29 will be elected at the state level.

He said the ward con­gresses will be held on Satur­day, April 5, while lo­cal govern­ment con­gresses will be held on April 12, and state congress is fixed for April 23. He said the party lead­er­ship has re­solved to en­sure hitch­free con­gresses.

“We en­cour­age all our mem­bers to troop out en-masse and par­tic­i­pate in the con­gresses as the congress is an ex­er­cise to ad­vance our col­lec­tive in­ter­ests to­wards the de­vel­op­ment of Kwara State and Nigeria”, it added.
