FG commends Obama’s Power Africa focus on Nigeria
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power Ambassador Godknows Igali has commended US President Barrack Obama’s initiative, known as Power Africa, describing it as unique.
According to him, the initiative would assist countries to access finance required for investment purposes.
Speaking yesterday when he presided over a meeting between the officials of his Ministry and the members of an American delegation led by Deputy-Assistant Secretary, Mathew Murray, Igali said the focus on the power sector will open up window of opportunities for Nigeria’s private sector to consolidate on the gains of privatisation.
A statement issued by the Ministry’s Media Head, Timothy Oyedeji, quoted Igali saying his Ministry welcomes visit of the American Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, who is expected to lead a delegation of American Business men and women, Exim Bank, other financial institutions, Equity Companies and Oil Gas Companies to Nigeria.
