Hit and run driver knocks down water vendor at Dei-dei
A sachet water vendor was knocked down yesterday by a hit and run driver at DeiDei, on the Kubwa-Zuba expressway.
A witness said the victim, who survived the incident, was hawking on the ever busy expressway when he was knocked down by a speeding vehicle, and the driver zoomed off immediately.
According to the witness, he was later moved away by the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who arrived at the scene some minutes later.
When contacted, the Kubwa Unit Commander of the FRSC, Ibrahim Bello, confirmed the incident, saying that the driver of the vehicle could not be traced as he had driven off before the arrival of his men.
He however said the victim sustained major injury on his head, and is undergoing treatment at the Kubwa General Hospital, adding that the bills would be taken care of by his unit as the relations of the victim are yet to be identified.
