Parents chain their son up in his bedroom to stop him stealing
Chinese parents have admitted to CHAINING their 24-year-old son up in his bedroom to stop him stealing.
Chuang Yuan’s thieving habits have apparently got so out of hand that dad Wen felt there was no other option than to take the somewhat-drastic action.
Armed with a heavy concrete block the strict father placed it in his son’s room, attached a chain to it and tied it round his neck.
Wen, 47, revealed he feared had he not acted now then his son would soon end up in jail.
“It isn’t exactly a large community here, when something is stolen everybody knows who is to blame,” he said. “I always had to compensate my neighbours and apologise for what he had stolen if I couldn’t return it and I just got fed up with it.
“I can’t keep paying compensation all the time because I just can’t afford it and eventually someone was going to call the police and he would have been locked up.”
Wen added that his son will be released eventually, but only when he is ready and prepared to be a member of the community.
Chuang will apparently remain in chains until he learns his lesson
