2.57 mil­lion tick­ets al­ready al­lo­cated to fans

A to­tal of 2,577,662 tick­ets for the 2014 FIFA World Cup have al­ready been al­lo­cated through all sales phases and chan­nels to date, in­clud­ing the hos­pi­tal­ity pro­gramme and other con­stituent groups.

The sec­ond pe­riod of the sec­ond sales phase closed yes­ter­day with a to­tal of 301,929 tick­ets al­lo­cated for the circa 345,000 tick­ets orig­i­nally avail­able, which went pri­mar­ily to res­i­dents of Brazil, USA, Colom­bia, Aus­tralia, Ar­gentina and Eng­land.

Across all gen­eral pub­lic sales phases, 1,591,435 tick­ets have been al­lo­cated to sup­port­ers: 65% to Brazil­ians and 35% to in­ter­na­tional fans. Brazil re­mains the coun­try with the most tick­ets as­signed (1,041,418 so far), fol­lowed by the USA (154,412 tick­ets), Aus­tralia (40,681), Eng­land (38,043) and Colom­bia (33,126).

Also, 261,988 tick­ets were sold at a dis­counted rate in all cat­e­gories (to Bolsa Fa­milia, el­derly and stu­dents). Fans that are en­ti­tled to re­ceive a dis­count must bring their proof of el­i­gi­bil­ity to the Tick­et­ing Cen­tre in or­der to pick up the tick­ets. For stu­dents, this is the Brazil­ian Na­tional Stu­dent ID card, for Bolsa Fa­milia ben­e­fi­cia­ries this is the Bolsa Fa­milia ID card, while the el­derly must bring any doc­u­ment dis­play­ing their CPF and/or RG num­ber. Dis­abled cus­tomers must bring a med­i­cal cer­tifi­cate that in­cludes their doc­tor’s CRM as well as an ICD code, a park­ing pass for dis­abled people or people with limited mo­bil­ity, a na­tional “Passe Livre” or mu­nic­i­pal trans­porta­tion card for dis­abled people or a disability pen­sion let­ter from the Min­istry for So­cial Se­cu­rity and Wel­fare. All buy­ers must carry their ticket pur­chase con­fir­ma­tion and the photo ID/pass­port used for the pur­chase.

The FIFA Venue Tick­et­ing Cen­tres, with ex­cep­tion of Brasilia and Porto Ale­gre – open­ing dates to be com­mu­ni­cated in due course, will open on 18 April 2014 at 12:00 lo­cal time for ticket collection only. As of early May, about 540,000 tick­ets will be de­liv­ered for Brazil­ian and in­ter­na­tional fans that opted for this ser­vice.
