Kano to re-introduce property tax

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Abdulkadir Badsha Mukhtar, Kano

Land owners and landlords whose property have been numbered and registered would start paying taxes after they collect their certificates, Kano State government has said.

Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso said this when he received the Law Officers Association of Nigeria, Kano branch, on Wednesday.

“Very soon all the houses that are numbered will start paying annual taxes. I believe that such will increase the value of the property,” he said.

The governor, who called on owners of uncompleted buildings to complete their projects and on land owners to develop their property, said such will help to tackle insecurity.
