Bishop seeks establishment of conflict resolution commission
Bishop of the Anglican Church, Makurdi Diocese, Dr. Nathan Inyom, yesterday urged the federal government to set up a bureau, commission or ministry for peace and conflict resolution in the country. Bishop Inyom said at a news briefing in Makurdi that the establishment of a body responsible for conflict would promptly address crises ravaging parts of the country. “We have policy for agriculture, labour, water among others in the country, but why is it taking government too long to develop policy for conflicts and resolution. Conflicts have claimed many lives in this country yet there is no policy in that direction,” he said.
