Daily Trust - - NEWS - By Francis Okeke

President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Abullahi Abdulmajeed has convened a support group to serve as support network to coordinate the engagement of young Nigerians’ contributions to the national conference.

A statement issued by the chairman of the group Mr. David Balami said: “Amidst all the challenges facing this country, we see the national conference as an opportunity to get it right and more importantly, to make sure young people are at the heart of the conversations at the conference.”

Com. Abdulmajeed who is a representative the council at the conference said: “We want to take the conversation beyond the walls of the national conference, hence this group; to amplify the voice of young Nigerians, to facilitate the contributions and aspirations of ordinary Nigerian youths, such that the delegates can focus on the political nittygritty of getting the point into actionable plans at the conference.”

The group will use different approaches to engage young Nigerians including social media and online channels.

A dedicated website will be set up to serve as one-stop resource centre and report support and activities of the youth delegates as well as town hall meetings.
