PDP pub­lic­ity sec­re­taries con­demn APC po­si­tions on na­tional is­sues

Peo­ples Demo­cratic Party (PDP) zonal and state pub­lic­ity sec­re­taries have, ris­ing from a two day re­treat in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State, con­demned the po­si­tion of the All Pro­gres­sives Congress (APC) on na­tional is­sues.

The party’s pub­lic­ity scribes how­ever com­mended Ah­madu Adamu Muazu on his emer­gence as the PDP na­tional chair­man and ap­plauded the steps the Na­tional Work­ing Com­mit­tee (NWC) un­der his lead­er­ship has been tak­ing to re­po­si­tion the PDP.

In a com­mu­niqué signed by Prof. Ru­fai Ahmed Al­kali and Nwachukwu Ngige, chair­man and sec­re­tary of the com­mu­niqué com­mit­tee, the pub­lic­ity sec­re­taries com­mended Pres­i­dent Good­luck Jonathan for stay­ing fo­cused in his com­mit­ment to trans­form Nigeria and his stead­fast­ness to bring­ing a last­ing so­lu­tion to the in­sur­gency in parts of the coun­try.

“The re­treat con­demned in no un­cer­tain terms, the at­ti­tude of the op­po­si­tion who have been en­gag­ing in friv­o­lous and un­nec­es­sary grand­stand­ing over crit­i­cal is­sues that af­fect the wel­fare of the people and the fu­ture of the na­tion,” they stated.

They also re­solved that all pub­lic­ity sec­re­taries at dif­fer­ent lev­els be em­pow­ered and prop­erly po­si­tioned for ef­fec­tive dis­charge of their re­spon­si­bil­i­ties while call­ing on the na­tional lead­er­ship to fur­ther or­gan­ise sim­i­lar re­treats at other lev­els.
