Second Republic politican, Alhaji Ibrahim Tukura, has explained why he wants to contest the Senate seat of the Federal Capital; Territory saying the seat would accord him the opportunity to contribute to the development of the FCT.

Tukura who is the Wazirin Rubochi, in a statement yesterday, said the FCT currently is experiencing challenges in the areas of lack of good road network, and inadequate potable water in the six area councils.

“I want to contest in order to change the political system of money politics by empowering youths and women groups as well as provide potable drinking water in the six area councils. My mission also is to address the problem of road networks and decongest the traffic at FCT while also creating jobs to the teeming youths who are unemployed by reviving industries,” he said.

Tukura who contested the House of assembly seat in Plateau State in 1979, said the national conference is a duplication of policy making as members of the National Assembly are expected to address the issues being addressed at the conference.

“At least I am seeking the mandate to enable contribute my quota towards the development of FCT” he stated.
