BUSINESS IST boss Chianakwalam joins IACA Advisory Council
The Chairman of Investments and Securities Tribunal (IST), Dr. Ngozi Chianakwalam has been elected member of the Advisory Council of the International Association for Court Administration (IACA).
A statement issued by Deputy Director, Public and International Affairs, Kenneth Ezea, recently, said the nomination was announced by the Arlington, Virginia, USAbased IACA in its March 2014 newsletter.
It said it was honoured to welcome Chianakwalam as its newest member. She joined the Council along with Justice Maja Ratnik of the Supreme Court of Slovenia.
The International Association for Court Administration (IACA) was created in 2004 by court system executives to promote a global association of professionals collectively engaged in promoting the effective administration of justice.
Chianakwalam as the Honourable Chairman/Chief Judge of the Investments and Securities Tribunal in Nigeria, according to citation in the Newsletter, was appointed to the position in 2013 by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Chianakwalam graduated from
the University of Ife, Ile – Ife, Nigeria with an LL.B and called to the Nigerian Bar. She also earned an M.B.A. in Management Technology from the Federal University of Technology in Owerri, Nigeria and a Ph.D. in Criminal Law from Rochville University in California, USA.
“She has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, since 2003 and the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators since 2005,” the Newsletter added.
Chianakwalam has been a supporter of IACA for a number of years “and I know you join me in welcoming her to our IACA Advisory Council,” it concluded.
