BUSI­NESS IST boss Chi­anakwalam joins IACA Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil

The Chair­man of In­vest­ments and Se­cu­ri­ties Tri­bunal (IST), Dr. Ngozi Chi­anakwalam has been elected mem­ber of the Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil of the In­ter­na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion for Court Ad­min­is­tra­tion (IACA).

A state­ment is­sued by Deputy Di­rec­tor, Pub­lic and In­ter­na­tional Af­fairs, Kenneth Ezea, re­cently, said the nom­i­na­tion was an­nounced by the Ar­ling­ton, Vir­ginia, USAbased IACA in its March 2014 news­let­ter.

It said it was hon­oured to wel­come Chi­anakwalam as its new­est mem­ber. She joined the Coun­cil along with Jus­tice Maja Rat­nik of the Supreme Court of Slove­nia.

The In­ter­na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion for Court Ad­min­is­tra­tion (IACA) was cre­ated in 2004 by court sys­tem ex­ec­u­tives to pro­mote a global as­so­ci­a­tion of pro­fes­sion­als col­lec­tively en­gaged in pro­mot­ing the ef­fec­tive ad­min­is­tra­tion of jus­tice.

Chi­anakwalam as the Hon­ourable Chair­man/Chief Judge of the In­vest­ments and Se­cu­ri­ties Tri­bunal in Nigeria, ac­cord­ing to ci­ta­tion in the News­let­ter, was ap­pointed to the po­si­tion in 2013 by the Pres­i­dent of the Federal Repub­lic of Nigeria.

Chi­anakwalam grad­u­ated from

the Univer­sity of Ife, Ile – Ife, Nigeria with an LL.B and called to the Nige­rian Bar. She also earned an M.B.A. in Man­age­ment Tech­nol­ogy from the Federal Univer­sity of Tech­nol­ogy in Ow­erri, Nigeria and a Ph.D. in Crim­i­nal Law from Rochville Univer­sity in Cal­i­for­nia, USA.

“She has been a mem­ber of the Char­tered In­sti­tute of Ar­bi­tra­tors, since 2003 and the In­sti­tute of Char­tered Me­di­a­tors and Con­cil­ia­tors since 2005,” the News­let­ter added.

Chi­anakwalam has been a sup­porter of IACA for a num­ber of years “and I know you join me in wel­com­ing her to our IACA Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil,” it con­cluded.
