Abaji council boss urges traditional rulers to be security conscious
The Chairman of Abaji Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Yahaya Garba Gawu, has implored traditional rulers in the council to be conscious of the influx of people into their communities in order to forestall crises in neighbouring states from sidling into the FCT.
The chairman,who was represented by the Supervising Councillor of Works, Barr. Yusuf Saleh, made this known during an urgent peace and security meeting with traditional heads in the area council yesterday.
He called on community leaders to be up and doing in their various communities by watching out to avoid unknown faces that will sink into community to cause trouble.
The chairman also directed that the council will do everything possible to stop influx of new faces to avoid crises pleading for a cooperation of security personnel and community leaders.
Responding, Etsu of Yaba, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, said the leaders are ready to corporate with government to improve peace and harmony in their various domains. “Therefore all traditional rulers present should warn their members not to entertain anybody with suspicious character and report to him immediately and I will in turn report to security agents,” he said.
