Jang re­ceives 3 awards

Gover­nor Jonah David Jang of Plateau State has bagged three merit awards from three dif­fer­ent for­eign or­gan­i­sa­tions.

The awards are Medal of Distinc­tion in Pub­lic Ad­min­is­tra­tion, by GLEEHD Foun­da­tion; Ex­cep­tional Life in Pub­lic Ser­vice, by Com­mon­wealth Demo­cratic In­sti­tute (CDI); and Life­long Achieve­ment in Gov­er­nance and Pub­lic Ser­vice by Nige­rian In­ter­na­tional Merit Award (NIRMA).

A state­ment from the Di­rec­tor of Press & Pub­lic Af­fairs to the gover­nor, James Man­nok, said the award­ing or­gan­i­sa­tions are based in the United King­dom, and that they gave the awards

in recog­ni­tion ex­em­plary lead­er­ship.

The awards, the state­ment said, were be­stowed on Gover­nor Jang in a cer­e­mony held in Lon­don as part of ac­tiv­i­ties to mark the Nige­rian Cen­te­nary cel­e­bra­tion and which over 75 Nige­rian govern­ment and non-govern­ment of­fi­cials and busi­ness lead­ers, in­clud­ing for­mer Head of State, Gen­eral Yakubu Gowon, at­tended.

“The GLEEHD Foun­da­tion, in part­ner­ship with the Com­mon­wealth Demo­cratic In­sti­tute and Nige­rian In­ter­na­tional Merit Award said Gover­nor Jang was cho­sen as one of the re­cip­i­ents for his con­tri­bu­tion to the de­vel­op­ment of Plateau State and good gov­er­nance in pub­lic ser­vice,” the state­ment ex­plained.
