Jang receives 3 awards
Governor Jonah David Jang of Plateau State has bagged three merit awards from three different foreign organisations.
The awards are Medal of Distinction in Public Administration, by GLEEHD Foundation; Exceptional Life in Public Service, by Commonwealth Democratic Institute (CDI); and Lifelong Achievement in Governance and Public Service by Nigerian International Merit Award (NIRMA).
A statement from the Director of Press & Public Affairs to the governor, James Mannok, said the awarding organisations are based in the United Kingdom, and that they gave the awards
in recognition exemplary leadership.
The awards, the statement said, were bestowed on Governor Jang in a ceremony held in London as part of activities to mark the Nigerian Centenary celebration and which over 75 Nigerian government and non-government officials and business leaders, including former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, attended.
“The GLEEHD Foundation, in partnership with the Commonwealth Democratic Institute and Nigerian International Merit Award said Governor Jang was chosen as one of the recipients for his contribution to the development of Plateau State and good governance in public service,” the statement explained.
