Fuel queues return to Abuja

Daily Trust - - NEWS - By Daniel Adugbo

Long fuel queues returned in most filling stations in the FCT and environs over the weekend as motorists struggled to buy petrol in few places where the product was available.

The situation was further compounded by the unavailability of the product in some filling stations in the city centre, which resulted to heavy traffic gridlock at stations which had fuel to dispense.

Our correspondent who monitored the situation within the city center reports that most service stations were under lock with only some Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega stations dispensing the product.

It is unclear the reason for the present development, but industry watchers are not ruling out the current leadership crisis rocking the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), as the cause of the looming scarcity.
