Ekiti remembers late deputy gov, one year after
Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi yesterday remembered his late deputy, Mrs. Funmilayo Olayinka, describing her as a selfless woman who lived for the people.
Fayemi, who spoke at the first remembrance service held at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Ado-Ekiti, lauded people of the state for the love they showed the late Olayinka even after her demise.
Fayemi called on civil servants and political office holders to dedicate themselves to service of the people.
Wreaths were later laid at the late deputy governor’s cenotaph by her husband, Mr Lanre Olayinka, her three children and wife of the governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi.
Earlier in his sermon, Venerable Reverend Bankole Olarewaju urged members of the congregation to show sincerity in all their dealings.
