Xin­jiang Fly­ing Tiger lands Okosa

Chi­nese Bas­ket­ball gi­ant Xin­jiang Fly­ing Tiger has landed 34-year old Nige­rian power for­ward Reg­gie Okosa, who re­cently played at Dacin Tigers in Taiwanese SBL league.

In 28 games he av­er­aged im­pres­sive 18.1ppg, 12.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg this sea­son. Okosa also played at Chiba Jets (BJ League) in Ja­pan ear­lier that sea­son. In 11 games he had 13.6ppg and 9.2rpg. The last sea­son he played at Iwate Big Bulls (BJ League) in Ja­pan. In 53 games he had very re­mark­able stats: 16.0ppg, 9.6rpg, 3.0apg and 1.1spg.

The pre­vi­ous (2012) sum­mer Okosa was tested by Cader (Met­ro­pol­i­tan) in Uruguayan league. He ended the pre­vi­ous (20112012) sea­son at Barako Bull En­ergy Cola (PBA) in Filipino league. But in only one game he did not score any­thing and had only 3 re­bounds and 1 steal. But the most of that year Okosa spent at Sonic Boom (KBL) in South Korean league. In 5 games he had 15.0ppg, 8.4rpg and 2.2apg.

Among other achieve­ments, his team made it to the PBA Com­mis­sioner’s Cup Fi­nal Four in 2012. Okosa re­ceived also Asia-Bas­ket. com All-Korean KBL Player of the Year award and Asi­aBas­ket.com All-Korean KBL Im­port Player of the Year award back in 2008.

He is a very ex­pe­ri­enced player. Okosa has played also pro­fes­sion­ally in Ar­gentina (GECR In­dalo), Chile, Do­mini­can Rep., Ger­many, Kosovo, Le­banon, Puerto Rico, UAE, South Korea (Sonic Boom KT), China (Qing­dao Ea­gles) and Ja­pan (Ryukyu Golden Kings Ok­i­nawa and Tochigi Brex).

He at­tended La Salle Univer­sity un­til 2002 and it is his twelfth sea­son in pro bas­ket­ball.
