Xinjiang Flying Tiger lands Okosa
Chinese Basketball giant Xinjiang Flying Tiger has landed 34-year old Nigerian power forward Reggie Okosa, who recently played at Dacin Tigers in Taiwanese SBL league.
In 28 games he averaged impressive 18.1ppg, 12.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg this season. Okosa also played at Chiba Jets (BJ League) in Japan earlier that season. In 11 games he had 13.6ppg and 9.2rpg. The last season he played at Iwate Big Bulls (BJ League) in Japan. In 53 games he had very remarkable stats: 16.0ppg, 9.6rpg, 3.0apg and 1.1spg.
The previous (2012) summer Okosa was tested by Cader (Metropolitan) in Uruguayan league. He ended the previous (20112012) season at Barako Bull Energy Cola (PBA) in Filipino league. But in only one game he did not score anything and had only 3 rebounds and 1 steal. But the most of that year Okosa spent at Sonic Boom (KBL) in South Korean league. In 5 games he had 15.0ppg, 8.4rpg and 2.2apg.
Among other achievements, his team made it to the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Final Four in 2012. Okosa received also Asia-Basket. com All-Korean KBL Player of the Year award and AsiaBasket.com All-Korean KBL Import Player of the Year award back in 2008.
He is a very experienced player. Okosa has played also professionally in Argentina (GECR Indalo), Chile, Dominican Rep., Germany, Kosovo, Lebanon, Puerto Rico, UAE, South Korea (Sonic Boom KT), China (Qingdao Eagles) and Japan (Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa and Tochigi Brex).
He attended La Salle University until 2002 and it is his twelfth season in pro basketball.
