The accident occurred at a construction site in Maitama when the victim brought tiles in a vehicle into the building premises to be used for the construction work.
Another vehicle was being offloaded of construction equipment with the crane when it crashed down, Daily Trust learnt.
Ahmad’s legs and hand were amputated in the incident and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital and later referred to the Abuja clinic where he later died, a source told Daily Trust.
An eye witness Muhammed Umar who also participated in the rescue effort said after the accident said they managed to pull the victim out from under the crane.
