Relative peace has returned to Jibu Ward of Wukari LGA of Taraba State following an attack on the community Tuesday morning which led to the death of about 10 persons according to the police. Taraba police spokesman, ASP Joseph Kwaji, said there is relative peace in the area now following the deployment of security personnel.

“As I speak with you, we have a detachment of conventional policemen, mobile policemen and the army on intensive patrol in the area. There is relative peace in the area now”, he said.

Kwaji said no arrest has so far been made in connection with the attack, adding that the attackers fled the area before the arrival of security personnel. He called on members of the public to give the police useful information that would lead the prevention of such attacks, adding that people should learn to channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities for redress instead of taking laws into their hands.
