FCT Senate: Youth group drums support for Wowo

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS -

A youth group, National Gade Youth Assembly (NGYA) has called on Alhaji Usman Jibrin Wowo, to contest for the FCT senate seat in next year’s general elections.

President of the group, Comrade Baba M. Sani, who was speaking with newsmen in Abuja yesterday while reacting to a media publication by the Greater Gbagyi Development Initiative (GGDI) titled “Indigenes reject Wowo” said no indigene of FCT has rejected Senator Wowo’s bid to contest the FCT Senate seat in 2015.

He said as far as the Gade Youth Assembly is concerned, the Greater Gbagyi Development Initiative are on their own, noting that what the former senator has done while representing the FCT in his short stay at the senate, has not been matched.

“The Gbagyi have no mandate that will make them reject our brother, if they believe that Senator Wowo is not representing them, we the Gades and other original inhabitants tribes believe that Senator Wowo will be representing us in 2015,” he said.

The group said it is a shame that the one the Gbagyis say they recognize is not doing enough for the FCT.

“When the women of Gosa village were protesting the evil called demolition of their ancestral home, what did the greater Gbagyi do about it?” they asked.
