NFF, Or­lean In­vest part­ner on foot­ball de­vel­op­ment

The Nigeria Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion will to­day sign a me­moran­dum of un­der­stand­ing with an oil ser­vices firm, Or­lean In­vest West Africa Limited.

Of­fi­cials said yes­ter­day that the part­ner­ship with the Port Har­court-based firm will drive de­vel­op­ment in the area of in­fra­struc­ture, ed­u­ca­tion and or­gan­i­sa­tion of Nigeria foot­ball.

As a first step, Or­lean In­vest West Africa is set to pro­vide for free, three play­ing pitches, in­clud­ing an ar­ti­fi­cial turf, for the Nigeria Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion.

The sign­ing cer­e­mony at the Me­dia Cen­tre of the Na­tional Sta­dium, Abuja this af­ter­noon will have in at­ten­dance Pres­i­dent of Nigeria Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion, Al­haji Aminu Maigari, a num­ber of NFF Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee mem­bers and man­age­ment, as well as chief­tains of Or­lean In­vest, which has ex­ten­sive in­flu­ence in Italy and Croa­tia.

The com­pany’s con­sul­tant, Al­haji Aminu Balele said yes­ter­day said that Nigeria foot­ball will ben­e­fit tremen­dously from the part­ner­ship.

“We are talk­ing about de­vel­op­ment of in­fra­struc­ture and pro­grammes in ed­u­cat­ing our coaches and ad­min­is­tra­tors. The beau­ti­ful thing is that this is not only for the Nigeria Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion. The var­i­ous Clubs within the coun­try will also ben­e­fit.”
