NFF, LMC of­fi­cials in Abid­jan for FIFA sem­i­nar

Of­fi­cials of the Nigeria Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion are in­volved in a two-day ‘In­tegrity in Sport Work­shop for West Africa’ sem­i­nar tak­ing place in Abid­jan, cap­i­tal of Cote d’Ivoire.

Di­rec­tor of Tech­ni­cal, Dr. Em­manuel Ikpeme, just back from a FIFA sem­i­nar in South Africa that also in­volved NFF Pres­i­dent Aminu Maigari and Gen­eral Sec­re­tary Musa Amadu, is at the sem­i­nar in Abid­jan along­side Di­rec­tor of Com­pe­ti­tions, Dr. Mo­hammed Sanusi, Su­per Ea­gles’

As­sis­tant Coach Daniel Amokachi, Mr. Shehu Dikko of the League Man­age­ment Com­pany and Dr. Chris­tian Emeruwa, Spe­cial As­sis­tant to NFF Gen­eral Sec­re­tary.

The re­gional work­shop, which is or­gan­ised by world foot­ball-gov­ern­ing body, FIFA, with the theme, ‘Tack­ling Match-Fix­ing and Cor­rup­tion in Foot­ball’, has the ob­jec­tives of de­vel­op­ing knowl­edge and un­der­stand­ing of the global threat from match-fix­ing and ir­reg­u­lar/il­le­gal bet­ting and its im­pact at re­gional and na­tional level; iden­ti­fy­ing cur­rent good prac­tice and ways of pre­vent­ing match-fix­ing and cor­rup­tion in foot­ball and more ef­fec­tively pro­tect the fu­ture of the game and; fur­ther en­cour­ag­ing global, re­gional and na­tional bod­ies as­so­ci­ated with foot­ball to work to­gether more ef­fec­tively in part­ner­ships, reg­u­larly shar­ing in­for­ma­tion and tak­ing ac­tion to pre­vent match-fix­ing.
