Kano Targets 90% mass literacy by 2015
The Kano State government says it hopes to achieve 90 percent success in mass literacy next year. Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso said when he launched the second circle of the mass literacy campaign program in Kano on Wednesday that the state would re-awaken the zeal for mass literacy activities, thereby raising adult literacy rate from 74.1 percent in any language to 90 percent by 2015. He said to meet this government purchased 11 cars and 50 motorcycles at the cost of N16. 6 million to monitor literacy classes across the state.
