Im­mi­gra­tion repa­tri­ates 80 il­le­gal im­mi­grants in Taraba

The Nigeria Im­mi­gra­tion Ser­vice (NIS) yes­ter­day repa­tri­ated 80 for­eign­ers, who were il­le­gally re­sid­ing in Taraba State.

The state Comp­trol­ler of Im­mi­gra­tion, Al­haji Habibu Haruna, said 170 il­le­gal im­mi­grants were ar­rested, out of which 80 were found to be liv­ing in Nigeria with­out valid pa­pers.

He said most of the im­mi­grants were from Niger Repub­lic and that they got into the coun­try through Katsina State, while a few oth­ers were from the Repub­lic of Camer­oun.
