Kogi to boost nurs­ing ed­u­ca­tion

The Kogi State govern­ment says it will pro­vide nec­es­sary fa­cil­i­ties in all its schools of nurs­ing to en­able them meet the ac­cred­i­ta­tion re­quire­ments of the Na­tional Board for Tech­ni­cal Ed­u­ca­tion (NABTE).

Gover­nor Idris Wada, who stated this in Lokoja dur­ing the open­ing cer­e­mony of ba­sic and post-ba­sic nurs­ing in­sti­tu­tions con­fer­ence of prin­ci­pals/ heads of nurs­ing in Nigeria, said his ad­min­is­tra­tion has signed into law a bill chang­ing the sta­tus of the School of Nurs­ing, Obangede, to a Col­lege of Nurs­ing. Wada, who was rep­re­sented by his deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, chal­lenged heads of nurs­ing in­sti­tu­tions in the coun­try to find last­ing so­lu­tion to the prob­lem of in­ad­e­quate nurse/mid­wife ed­u­ca­tors.
