The Chairman, National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Damian Dodo, has solicited for the strengthening of relationship between the agency and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), particularly in the area of lottery education and public enlightenment.

Dodo, who made the appeal, yesterday, in Abuja during a courtesy visit to the management of the organisation, said such synergy would further boost the operations of both agencies and generate greater revenues.

“In the cause of our work and interface with the operations of Lottery in Nigeria, it has come to our notice that for the operators both legal and illegal to draw attention to their games, they also need the media to reach as many people as possible so they often come to advertise with NTA,” he added.

He also sought for the assistance of the media agency in monitoring the activities of the illegal and non registered operators who defraud many Nigerians and dodge the necessary statutory payments to government.

“When they come with any advert that have lottery elements in it, the NTA can demand their registration status, and equally draw attention of the Commission to the case.”
