Corps members will soon start getting loans to enable them start their own businesses, Director General, Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi, has said. Speaking when he received the team of Guards Brigade led by the Commander of the brigade, Brigadier General Anthony Omozoje, lamented that trained corps members lacked capital to start venture into business to become self-employed.

He said that the scheme has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bank of Industries to provide loans for corps members with business proposals.

Olawumi said the intention of the skills acquisition training and empowerment was to help solve the challenges of unemployment which usually leads to insecurity.

On his part, Commander of the brigade, Brigadier General Anthony Omozoje said the visit was to create a synergy with the scheme and provide assistance to the agency when called to do so.
