IT experts lament lack of database in traffic laws enforcement

Information Technology experts have lamented the absence of a central data base for vehicles and drivers, describing the situation as an impediment to the successful implementation and enforcement of traffic laws in Nigeria.

The experts who met with traffic managers at a seminar organised by Data Sciences Nigeria Limited, in partnership with UK based Startraq UK Limited and Tele-Traffic UK, in Lagos, noted that for the job of the traffic officer to be made easier, there was need to have adata base of citizens so that offenders can be easily traced.

The seminar which was organised as an awareness and engagement platform, also had the display and demonstrations of how cutting edge technology that are used to tackle traffic infractions have helped traffic law enforcement in the United Kingdom.
