2 van­dals die in Kaduna

Fume from a dam­aged petrol pipe­line yes­ter­day killed two van­dals at Ung­war Udazo in Chikun Lo­cal Govern­ment Area of Kaduna State.

Daily Trust gath­ered that two oth­ers that took part in van­dal­is­ing the pipe­line were in­jured and taken to a hospi­tal un­der the su­per­vi­sion of op­er­a­tives of the Nigeria Se­cu­rity and Civil De­fence Corps (NSCDC).

Spokesman of the NSCDC in Kaduna, Micheal Ogun­tu­ase, who con­firmed the in­ci­dent, said on get­ting the re­port, their men rushed to the scene and ar­rested two per­sons.

“Fume killed two per­sons while two oth­ers were taken to the hospi­tal. They are help­ing us with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion,” Ogun­tu­ase said.

Area Man­ager, Pipe­lines and Prod­ucts Mar­ket­ing Com­pany (PPMC), Kaduna of­fice, Eng Anthony Osita On­wuka, who vis­ited the scene de­scribed the in­ci­dent as un­for­tu­nate.
