Gashua varsity commences remedial programme
The Federal University Gashua, Yobe State, has commenced remedial programme to provide opportunity for candidates who are desirous of gaining admission but did not make some of their O’ Level papers, to be absorbed into degree awarding courses offered by the university.
The university’s Registrar Alhaji Sule Dauda, in a statement said the objectives of the program include; to prepare candidates to remedy their O’ Level deficiencies in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB examinations and to prepare them to pass the UTME examination as well as pass the university’s internal examination to qualify them for admission into 100 level.
According to him, those who successfully undergo the remedial programme and obtain at least five credits including Mathematics and English Language will automatically be admitted into the university.
Candidates for admission into the programme must have at least three credits and two passes in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two sittings.
Those with more than three credits but deficient in their subjects’ combinations or Mathematics and English can seize the opportunity to remedy their shortcomings.
