Atiku de­liv­ers pub­lic lec­ture, do­nates N25m to NSUK

For­mer vice pres­i­dent Atiku Abubakar has do­nated the sum of N25 mil­lion for build­ing of a re­search and study cen­tre to be named “Atiku Cen­tre” at the Nasarawa State Univer­sity, Keffi.

Atiku, who an­nounced the do­na­tion dur­ing a pub­lic lec­ture he pre­sented, ti­tled: “Con­fi­dence and Con­sen­sus Build­ing through Con­fer­enc­ing” at the univer­sity, said the ges­ture was his con­tri­bu­tion to the de­vel­op­ment of the young univer­sity.

The lec­ture which at­tracted a huge au­di­ence from within and out­side the univer­sity was held at the univer­sity’s As­sem­bly Hall in Keffi.

It was hosted by the act­ing Vice Chan­cel­lor Pro­fes­sor Muham­mad Akaro Main­oma and chaired by the for­mer gover­nor of Nasarawa State, Se­na­tor Ab­dul­lahi Adamu (CON).

The state gover­nor Umaru Tanko Al­makura was rep­re­sented by the state’s Com­mis­sioner for Higher Ed­u­ca­tion, Mr Philip Shekwo.

For­mer Chair­man of Lead­er­ship Group, Mr. Sam Nda Isa­iah and for­mer Chair­man of the Aca­demic Staff Union of Uni­ver­si­ties (ASUU), Pro­fes­sor Asisi Aso­bie, were the dis­cus­sants at the paper pre­sen­ta­tion.
