Galadima to NFF: Give Keshi free hand

Daily Trust - - SPORT - By David Ngobua Ibrahim Galadima

As the proposed April 22 meeting between the NFF Technical Committee and Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi approaches, former NFA Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima has called on the football federation not to impose players on the coach but to give the Eagles manager free hands to select his players.

Speaking to Daily Trust on the meeting which is meant to discuss Eagles list for Brazil 2014, Galadima said since Keshi knows the players he wants to take to the World Cup, he should be allowed to select his team without interference.

He said if the coach is given the entire responsibility of choosing his players, he would be held responsible for any failure in Brazil but if players are imposed on him, nobody would have the morale strength to accuse him of any wrong doing.

Galadima also said imposition of players on the coach would lead to several problems including indiscipline as he said such players would not owe any allegiance to him.
