Another Kano commissioner resigns
Kano State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Recourses, Dr. Baraka Sani, has resigned as member of the State Executive Council. The resignation brought to two the number of commissioners who have resigned their appointments in the present administration.
In 2013, the then state commissioner of education, Farouk Sambo Iya, who is also a former PDP party chairman in the state resigned his appointment and refused to decamp to the APC when the state governor decamped.
Attempts to reach Dr. Baraka on phone failed as she refused to pick calls put through to her. However, sources close to the former commissioner told Daily Trust that she will soon address the press on the matter. The source also added that the former commissioner only resigned from office, but that she is still a member of the APC.
Reports say her resignation followed disagreement with Gov. Rabi’u Kwankwaso over selection of some candidates for the forthcoming local government election.
“The commissioner was not happy because the governor refused to consider one of her candidates for the election in the state’’, the source said.
