NNPC, marketers inject 436m litres of petrol for Easter

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporatio­n (NNPC) and its downstream subsidiary, the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC) have injected 293 million litres of petrol into various stations across the country.

This is in addition to the 142 million litres major and independen­t marketers are scheduled to supply into the system.

This effort was meant to ensure a hitch-free Easter celebratio­ns across the nation, NNPC said in a statement issued by its spokesman, Mr. Ohi Alegbe.

The statement said that the NNPC, Major Oil Marketers Associatio­n of Nigeria (MOMAN, Nigeria Independen­t Petroleum Company (NIPCO) and all other importers of petroleum products were trucking out petrol from their various marine and inland depots to stabilise the situation.

It said that in line with the resolve of the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani AlisonMadu­eke, to return the country to zero fuel queues at the filling stations across the nation, “the NNPC/ PPMC is collaborat­ing with relevant stakeholde­rs to wet the nation with PMS before, during and after the Easter celebratio­n.” Ashaka Cement Plc has trained 100 youths in various skills drawn from Funakaye Local Government Area, its host community, and other parts
