NNPC, mar­keters in­ject 436m litres of petrol for Easter

Nige­rian Na­tional Petroleum Cor­po­ra­tion (NNPC) and its down­stream sub­sidiary, the Pipe­lines and Prod­ucts Mar­ket­ing Com­pany (PPMC) have in­jected 293 mil­lion litres of petrol into var­i­ous sta­tions across the coun­try.

This is in ad­di­tion to the 142 mil­lion litres ma­jor and in­de­pen­dent mar­keters are sched­uled to sup­ply into the sys­tem.

This ef­fort was meant to en­sure a hitch-free Easter cel­e­bra­tions across the na­tion, NNPC said in a state­ment is­sued by its spokesman, Mr. Ohi Alegbe.

The state­ment said that the NNPC, Ma­jor Oil Mar­keters As­so­ci­a­tion of Nigeria (MO­MAN, Nigeria In­de­pen­dent Petroleum Com­pany (NIPCO) and all other im­porters of petroleum prod­ucts were truck­ing out petrol from their var­i­ous ma­rine and in­land de­pots to sta­bilise the sit­u­a­tion.

It said that in line with the re­solve of the Min­is­ter of Petroleum Re­sources, Mrs. Diezani AlisonMadueke, to re­turn the coun­try to zero fuel queues at the fill­ing sta­tions across the na­tion, “the NNPC/ PPMC is col­lab­o­rat­ing with rel­e­vant stake­hold­ers to wet the na­tion with PMS be­fore, dur­ing and af­ter the Easter cel­e­bra­tion.” Ashaka Ce­ment Plc has trained 100 youths in var­i­ous skills drawn from Fu­nakaye Lo­cal Govern­ment Area, its host com­mu­nity, and other parts
