Nige­rien ar­rested in Ogun with 1,000 pass­port pho­to­graphs

The Ogun State Po­lice Com­mand has ar­rested a mid­dle-aged Nige­rien for al­legedly be­ing in pos­ses­sion of more than 1,000 pass­port pho­to­graphs of young boys. It was gath­ered that a cam­era and sev­eral forms were also found on the sus­pect.

Spokesman of the com­mand, Mr Muyiwa Ade­bajo, said in a state­ment in Abeokuta on Satur­day that the sus­pect was ar­rested at Ogijo on Fri­day.

He said the sus­pect, who claimed to be stay­ing with one Al­haji Is­malia Abu in Ikeja area of La­gos State since 2013, could not ex­plain his mis­sion in Ogijo or what he was do­ing in the coun­try.

Ade­bajo said the Ogun Com­mis­sioner of Po­lice, Mr Ike­me­funa Okoye, di­rected that the case should be trans­ferred to the Ogun com­mand of the Nige­rian Im­mi­gra­tion Ser­vice for fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

“When the Im­mi­gra­tion au­thor­i­ties are through with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, the state po­lice com­mand will de­cide on the next line of ac­tion,” the state­ment added.

Ade­bajo as­sured mem­bers of the pub­lic that the po­lice would con­tinue to do their best to en­sure safety of lives and property.

He com­mended res­i­dents of Ogijo, par­tic­u­larly the com­mu­nity’s lead­er­ship for the sup­port of­fered in ar­rest­ing the sus­pect. (NAN)
