Mass wed­ding holds for 100 cou­ples in Kaduna

Kaduna hosted its first mass wed­ding yes­ter­day where about 100 cou­ples tied the knot.

The wed­ding which took place at the Al-Man­nar Juma’at Mosque in Kaduna also in­cluded wid­ows.

It was or­gan­ised by Darul Rahmah and of­fi­ci­ated by the Imam of Sul­tan Bello Mosque, Sheikh Balele Wali. The re­cep­tion took place at the pop­u­lar Mur­tala Square in Kaduna.

Sheikh Wali urged the cou­ples to fear Al­lah and take their mar­riages se­ri­ously’

“It is now the re­spon­si­bil­ity of the grooms to feed and clothe their wives,” he ad­vised.

The com­man­der of His­bah Move­ment in Kano State, Sheikh Aminu I. Dau­rawa who was present at the wed­ding en­cour­aged the or­gan­is­ers to em­u­late Kano state by en­gag­ing Chris­tians who are in­ter­ested in get­ting mar­ried but do not have the means to do so.

He said by so do­ing, it will en­cour­age youth who have reser­va­tions for get­ting mar­ried to em­brace it.

In his re­mark, Chair­man of Darul Rahmah in Kaduna, Sheikh Ishaq Yunus said 100 women in­clud­ing wid­ows in the state were wed­ded. He said with the sup­port of the state govern­ment and some in­di­vid­u­als the rooms of the newly wed­ded will be fur­nished.

He said food­stuffs would be dis­trib­uted to the cou­ples, cour­tesy of the wife of the Vice Pres­i­dent Ha­jiya Amina Sambo and the Kaduna state govern­ment.

“Beds, sewing ma­chines, grind­ing ma­chines would also be given to the newly wed­ded es­pe­cially the brides,” he said while ap­pre­ci­at­ing Gover­nor Muk­tar Ra­malan Yero of Kaduna state for his sup­ports in mak­ing the mass wed­ding a suc­cess.
