Mass wedding holds for 100 couples in Kaduna
Kaduna hosted its first mass wedding yesterday where about 100 couples tied the knot.
The wedding which took place at the Al-Mannar Juma’at Mosque in Kaduna also included widows.
It was organised by Darul Rahmah and officiated by the Imam of Sultan Bello Mosque, Sheikh Balele Wali. The reception took place at the popular Murtala Square in Kaduna.

“It is now the responsibility of the grooms to feed and clothe their wives,” he advised.
The commander of Hisbah Movement in Kano State, Sheikh Aminu I. Daurawa who was present at the wedding encouraged the organisers to emulate Kano state by engaging Christians who are interested in getting married but do not have the means to do so.
He said by so doing, it will encourage youth who have reservations for getting married to embrace it.
In his remark, Chairman of Darul Rahmah in Kaduna, Sheikh Ishaq Yunus said 100 women including widows in the state were wedded. He said with the support of the state government and some individuals the rooms of the newly wedded will be furnished.
He said foodstuffs would be distributed to the couples, courtesy of the wife of the Vice President Hajiya Amina Sambo and the Kaduna state government.
“Beds, sewing machines, grinding machines would also be given to the newly wedded especially the brides,” he said while appreciating Governor Muktar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna state for his supports in making the mass wedding a success.
