JIBWIS alleges attacks targeted to eliminate Muslims

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Atika Balal, Katsina

National Chairman of Jama’atul Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) Sheik Abdullahi Bala Lau has alleged most of the killings in northern part of Nigeria were part of an agenda to destroy Muslims in the region.

Sheik Lau who spoke at a press conference organized by JIBWIS in Katsina said the Boko Haram insurgency was a thing of the past and that the present situation was part of a malicious conspiracy to eradicate Muslims across the country.

He said Nigeria was moving in an abnormal manner due to the bias leadership style of the federal government against northern Muslims.

He said: “We are in a bad era of leadership in the country and only prayers can solve the problem since the government has failed, particularly in the area of security.”

He added that the only way out was for Muslims to engage in serious prayers and fasting if peace is to be restored to the country.

“The sit and look attitude of the federal government towards the recent kidnap of over 100 girl students in Chibok is an indication of a failed government, “he said.

Lau said even the leadership of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) has stopped blaming the killings on Muslims, adding that the government is hiding under the umbrella of Boko Haram to kill innocent Muslims.

He said: “The recent letter of former President Obasanjo to President Jonathan “before it is too late” has captured what is really happening in the country.”

He said the association will not fold its arms to watch the malicious agenda against Muslims, adding that it will continue to demand justice for Sheik Auwal Albani who was killed last February.
