‘ Tourism can generate 2m jobs’
A retired director in the Kwara State Civil Service, Mr Kayode Adeyipo, has challenged government at all levels to harness tourist potentials in their domains to create job opportunities for unemployed youths. He said if the sector is properly articulated, it is capable of generating two million jobs.
Adeyipo, while speaking at the launch of a magazine in Ilorin, said tourism has become a major source of revenue for a number of countries across the globe.
The retired officer noted that over-dependence on oil has hampered the development of Nigeria, noting that oil would dry up one day.
He said efforts should be intensified to shift attention to tourism so as to explore the limitless opportunities offered by the sector.
