How to stop terrorism, by PDP youth leader

Daily Trust - - NEWS - By Romoke W. Ahmad

The National Youth Leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Comrade Abdullahi Maibasira has called for an effective intelligence gathering which he said would avert subsequent attempts to bombing in the country.

Maibasira stated this in Abuja while condoling with families of the victims of last Monday’s bomb attack in Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja.

At least 75 were killed in the explosion and over 100 injured.

Maibasira said only extensive intelligence coverage would prevent further attacks.

“Government at all levels must as a matter of urgency respond by empowering the people to build themselves accordingly in addition to ensuring that there is in-depth and extensive intelligence coverage,” he said.

The PDP youth leader said state and local governments should complement the efforts of the federal government in providing adequate empowerment programmes to address the menace of youth restiveness.

He however urged Nigerian youths to desist from any act capable of truncating the unity of the country, saying the youth population has the burden of reshaping the country’s future.
