Emir urges leaders to be fair, just

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Atika Balal, Katsina

The Emir of Daura in Katsina State, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, has called on persons in leadership positions to be fair in their dealings and just to the people at all times.

He spoke in Daura, during the turbaning ceremony of Deputy Comptroller of the Nigeria Customs Service, Jafaru Tukur Gidado, as Kaigaman Daura.

Umar also called on well-to-do Nigerians to help the poor and needy at all times.

Speaking on the title bestowed upon Gidado, the emir said he is most deserving as he has done much for the development of the emirate.

“Our emirate has never given anyone a title based on any incentive. Every title has been based on merit and given particularly to those that have contributed to the development of Daura,” he said.

He urged Gidado to continue to be patient, cautious and God fearing in his dealings.

“If you have a kind heart God sees you and will reward you accordingly and if you have a bad heart you will be rewarded accordingly. Your deeds will take you to your final destination in the hereafter,” Umar said.

Gidado is a graduate of history from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He joined the Nigeria Customs Service in 1980.
