‘Army com­mit­ted to per­son­nel wel­fare’

The Nige­rian Army has ex­pressed com­mit­ment to the wel­fare of its per­son­nel as well as fam­i­lies of those who died in ac­tive ser­vice.

Chair­man of the Board of Di­rec­tors of the Nige­rian Army Wel­fare In­sur­ance Scheme(NAWIS), Ma­jor Gen­eral Bitrus Kwaji, dur­ing the 2014 first quar­ter board of di­rec­tors meet­ing held at the 3rd Ar­moured Di­vi­sion, Jos, said: “The present lead­er­ship of the Army is com­mit­ted to en­hanc­ing the ex­ist­ing wel­fare ar­range­ments that will serve as suc­cour to fam­i­lies of the de­ceased.”

Ear­lier in his ad­dress, the Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of NAWIS, Colonel Sam­son Jiye, said the scheme has helped in fast track­ing pay­ments of en­ti­tle­ments.
